About Robert Lloyd ~ artist

My main subject matter is nature, whether it is a beautiful landscape, or a bird or animal painting. I use traditional materials: oil paints, watercolors and ink, to capture sceneries and life. Nearly every landscape in this collection is one I've sat in front of, marveled at and savored; getting outside is good for the soul. I hope you also get a taste of their vastness. The colors, lines, and shapes I use seek to emulate how otherworldly they seem in today's modern society. Through my paintings, I try to bring the outside in. I want my artwork subjects to look like they could have lived or grown somewhere. Living with beautiful objects that pay tribute to the natural world reminds us to slow down and helps us reconnect with nature.

ROBERT LLOYD is a painter and he works in a variety of mediums, including oils, pen & ink, watercolors, and stone sculpture. 

He is currently focusing on landscape paintings of Ojai and Ventura County. He paints in his home studio, and plein air as well.

Robert has followed Daria Callie's course Realistic Portrait Painting at Studio.com, and is a graduate of The Mastery Program at Milan Art Institute.
He had his artwork on display at Ojai Coffee Roasting in Ojai, and is preparing for a display at Ojai Day in October.

Other areas of professional work:

Robert studied art through high school and college. He began the 1.5 year mechanical/electromechanical drafting and Autocad course at Sawyer College in Ventura in the 80s. After graduation he worked as an architectural draftsman. In the early 90s he completed Sawyer College's graphic design course; they studied early desktop publishing on a Mac Plus using Pagemaker and Illustrator 3.

In the early 90s Robert bought his first Apple computer and began working as a graphic artist, illustrator and computer technician. 

Later he began helping customers troubleshoot their computer problems, and Lahaina Computer now offers computer repair and upgrades, graphic design, illustration, drafting services and computer training. Recently Robert has become a full time professional artist.
